IPL has been one of the best leagues in sporting history. When it comes to cricket, it’s broadly famous in the world. The first season was played in 2008 and since then its popularity is growing yearly.
There are very different opinions about who has been the best batsman in IPL history. Today in this blog, I am going to give my unbiased opinion about the best IPL batsmen.
If you check the stats you will see 3 batsmen at the top of the list of most runs scorer.
- Virat Kohli
- Shikhar Dhawan
- David Warner
It is obvious that Virat Kohli has the most number of runs, but we just cannot decide the best batsmen on that factor. The reason he has the most runs is because he has played more games. One thing we have to appreciate about him is consistency. He has been a consistent run scorer. He was able to achieve this milestone because of his fitness. He has scored 7263 runs with an of 37.25 including 7 centuries and fifty 50s in 229 innings.
Shikhar Dhawan is not far behind, he has scored 6617 runs with avg of 35.39 including 2 centuries and fifty 50s in 216 innings.
The fact I would like to present here is David Warner has the best record in the entire IPL. There are stats to prove this. He has only played 176 innings and scored 6397 runs with an average of 41.54 with a strike rate of almost 140. Virat has SR of 130.02 and Dhawan has 127 respectively. So, Warner has played 53 less matches and he only 866 runs behind Kohli. If we do a calculation on the basis of his average i.e. 41 he would have scored 2000 runs more. That means, If he had played the same number of innings as Virat he would have scored runs around 8400.
Below record details provide us a straightforward picture.
